This is an outstanding piece of art and very rare.

This ceramic RAD Maid – (Reich Labour Service – Reichsarbeitsdienst), dates between 1936 to 1937, artist Arthur Moller – 1886 to 1972. The figure stands at 310mm in height and 230mm in length, so a fairly big piece of Third Reich era Art.

The details in the ceramics are simply stunning and the piece is totally undamaged. It depicts a young girl doing her one year compulsory agricultural service for the Third Reich, relaxing playing the accordion after a days work in the fields.

Artist Arthur Moller actually was the original sculpture to make the first Disney ceramic models produced in the 1950s and was working with Walt Disney as early as 1947. If you look at the face, its typical of the Disney female fairy tale ladies that were produced 20 years after.

Arthur Moller exhibited 4 pieces of ceramic art at the Great German Art Exhibition 1937-44 at the Haus der Kunst – Munich, all figurines.

A very rare and unusual piece of Third Reich Art with an historic connection.
