For me this is possibly the most beautiful of the Third Reich era dress daggers and now becoming incredibly scarce especially in this examples condition. The cross-guard eagle looks to the left unlike the Diplomatic Dagger where the eagle is facing right. The cross-guard eagle is crisp and all detail is visible. Mother of Pearl handle has only one small minor scraping to the cross-guard side, all other areas of the MoP are completely undamaged. The Eagles Head Pommel is just superb with just a hint of wear to the top, this is no doubts where the hand of the wearer rested when the dress dagger was in use – just fantastic to see this. The scabbard and all fittings are again beautiful quality with sharp crisp detailing. The blade is near mint throughout its full length and maker marked Alcoso Solingen and complete with its period leather washer. The dagger comes with its silver portapee which is in near perfect condition.
This is a great example of this scarce dagger and I will be sad to see it leave my collection, but the time has come.
