German Wehrmacht Tropenhelm

WW2 German Army tropical sun helmet (tropenhelm) as worn by the Afrika Korps in their North Africa campaigns. This sun helmet features all olive drab felt construction and is the second pattern tropenhelm. The Wehrmacht shield and national colours shield match and are original to the helmet. The exterior is in good condition showing active wear and only one minor dent that could be pushed out if the internal lining was removed. The air vent is undamaged and present. The chinstrap is in good condition, but the leather trim along the brim is missing in many places. The red lined interior features a leather sweatband featuring the maker’s stamp (R) and logo to the underside of the leather sweat band as well as size 56 and 1942 date. A rarely seen piece of Afrika Korps headgear, most seen are severely dented.

Nice tropenhelm and increasingly hard to find.
