Over the course of the war, the continuous bombing by first RAF, then the US Air-force on German cities led to increases in the number of flak units deployed in Germany. Late in the war, AA units had to be manned by boys from the Hitler Youth.
This cap is an NCO issue with a body of fairly course material which does appear to have been in many heavy rain showers. The black cap band, red piping, peak, chin-strap and insignia, are all in excellent condition. Internal of the cap the lining is again a course material which is damaged in and around the sweatband. The celluloid diamond is fully intact and marked with maker – “Christian Haug – Berlin”, cap is size 56 1/2.
A good honest period cap showing some wear, so priced accordingly.
