The RLB was founded by Hermann Goring in 1933 as a voluntary organisation. It was not until 1944 that it became an official entity of the Nazi Party. Its primary function was to train civilians in self help before, during and after air-raids. Civilians were instructed in basic first aid, search and rescue and fire-fighting. Its equivalent in the British Isles during WW2 being the ARP.
This is a nice quality armband with only minor staining. All stitching in the machined emblem is secure and tight. On the reverse is the German patent mark of “ges. gesch”, followed by the maker mark of H & F.
A nice example of this armband and totally 100% period.
