This is another  very nice Silver Plated Ice-Cream Dish from the Platterhof Hotel.

The Platterhof Hotel was built by the Third Reich so as to assure the very best hospitality for guests waiting to see Hitler. It was up on the Obersalzberg very close to Hitlers House – The Berghof. At the time it was one of the most luxury hotels in Europe. After the end of WW2 it was used by the American Forces until 2005, it was then demolished after being returned to the control of the Bavarian Government. The Platterhof emblem was used on all service and glassware used at the hotel – it shows a peasant woman with mountains in the background. The entire emblem is encased in an oval.

This dish is clearly maker marked – Gebruder Hepp followed by 90. The 90 indicates that the silver plating has 10% of silver in its coating.

The dish is slightly angled so the ice-cream or fruit were easier to eat as the contents were eaten. A beautiful item, 100% correct for an item of the Platterhof Hotel. This dish would clean into pristine condition if any new owner desired it.
