These bells were made to commemorate the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games and were on sale to the general public. Manufactured by Koenigliche Porzellanmanufaktur (KPM) – Berlin in very fine grade white porcelain.

The bell is a replica of the huge bronze bell in the Berlin Bell Tower and is decorated with 3rd Reich era emblems. The Soviets destroyed the tower after their occupation of Berlin, but the bell can still be seen today at ground level just near the Olympic Stadium with the Nazi markings ground off.

On one side of the bell depicts the German eagle clutching the five Olympic Rings while the other has the Brandenburg Gate. Written is “1-16 August 1936″ and “11.Olympische Spiele Berlin” and the Motto “Ich rude die Jugend der weld” – “I call the youth of the world”.

The bell comes with its wooden base and the condition is excellent with no chips or cracks present, and with the green maker mark for the maker Koenigliche Porzellanmanufaktur Berlin inside the bell itself. Originally these bells were purchased in a card presentation box, this is sadly missing.

Very nice item and becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition.
