This example is named to a George Scotland W Darling. It also comes with a photo-copy of the page of the London Gazette dated 8th June 1945 announcing the award to Mr Darling – he was a Postman.
In addition there is a second photo-copy of the London Gazette dated December 3rd 1909 stating an award of the ISM to another George Scotland White Darling – possibly Mr Darlings Father, as it was not unknown for sons to follow their Fathers into the same employment.
Medal is in excellent condition with a very nice patina. Rare to have proof of the history.
