This is a very high quality tunic from a Sargent in the Irish Guards.
The Irish Guards are part of the British Army Guards Division. The Irish Guards have buttons arranged in groups of four as they were the fourth Foot Guards regiment to be founded. The regiment was formed on April 1st 1900, by order of Queen Victoria so as to commemorate the Irishmen who fought in the Second Boer War for the British Empire.
