This is a nicely framed set of cloth badges from the loyalist fraction organisations in Northern Ireland. The set includes the small badge of the loyalist “Red Hand Commandos” – possibly a cap badge. Most badges in this set are linked to the young boys pipe and accordion bands that accompany the Orangemen marches.
The overall quality of these badges is very high with the Glasgow and Ballynafeigh being of a beautiful embroided manufacture.
A nice set but a sobering reminder of the troubled times that existed in Northern Ireland. Size to include frame measures 420mm x 320mm. This would display very well as highly colourful.
