A very nice lithograph print, richly coloured in what appears the original period frame. Kaiser Wilhelm II and his sons are dressed in military uniforms, Princes Augusta Victoria & Victoria Louise are in an Edwardian period dress.
Wilhelm II was the last German Emperor and King of Prussia reigning from June 1888 until November 1918. Eldest grandchild of Queen Victoria he was related to many monarchs of Europe to include King George V and Emperor Nicholas II of Russia.
Acceding to the throne he dismissed the Chancellor Otto von Bismarck in 1890. He also launched Germany on a new course in foreign affairs that culminated in his support for Austria-Hungary in the crisis of July 1914 that led quickly to the outbreak of the First World War.
This is a rare lithograph of the portrait of the Kaisers family in Imperial Germany just before its fall in the First World War. The print is covered in glass but does show water damage and is creased most noticeably across the Kaisers body. To include the frame size is 35cms x 45cms.
A rare print from the days of Imperial Germany, and considering it is over 100 years old the condition is still classed as good.
