This is the early rare version of Deutschland Erwacht, still containing the photo of Ernst Rohm which was removed after the “Night of the Long Knives” 1st July 1934, when Rohm was executed.

This Third Reich book contains dozens of period cigarette card photos including a full-page portrait of Adolf Hitler and SA Chief of Staff Viktor Lutze. The book was published in 1933 and originally had a dust cover which is sadly missing. It was the first very high quality publishing effort of the Nazi Party in the wake of their election victories earlier in 1933. It is a large size and has 153 pages all very heavily illustrated. The hard cover is in fair condition, internal is in very nice condition with all photos present – (over 160 black & white). The book was published by Altona Bahrenfeld on behalf of the  the NSDAP in Germany. The book is the Nazi Party’s tribute to itself and consists of a very substantial well-written German text and two full-page illustrations in colour.
A superb research tool and this copy with the Rohm photo still present is extremely rare.
