This is a very early model with the highest quality nickel silver fittings – the plating is heavy and just beautiful. The blue leather scabbard has a few very small nicks to the lower area but the leather is not broken. All other areas of the leather are completely undamaged, very rare as these early daggers dress usage was extensive indeed. The cross-guard and pommel have all gilding intact, again rare to find. There is slight discolouring around the pommel roundel and the wings of the cross-guard, this could be cleaned off if wished but personally I like to see this. The blue leather bound handle has a few areas of scuffing, but is generally in excellent condition with the wire fully tightly bound and bordered. The blade of this dagger is amazing – just mint throughout, maker marked SMF Solingen with the “Sitting King” logo. The attached chained hanger has all rings and fittings totally free of damage.

An early quality example of the Luft 1st Pattern.
