The Cross of Honour of the German Mother – was a German State Decoration awarded in recognition of the importance of a women,s role in motherhood. It was first established by order of the German Government led by Adolf Hitler in 1938 and first awarded in 1939 – final award being on 8th of May 1945. The award was typical of the Nazi ideology and promoted the growth of the German population.

This award is in bronze (classed as a Third Class) and was awarded to mothers whom gave birth to 4 or 5 children. The enamel and bronze finish are just perfect and completely undamaged – superb. It comes with a shortened white and blue neck ribbon.

These awards in all their forms are beautiful, not only an award but a superb piece of jewellery worn with pride by the Mothers at the time.
