This is a very large size flag measuring 400 cms x 220 cms, would make a perfect back drop to any serious Third Reich collection.

The Reich Labour Service was established in Germany from 1935 to 1945. Originally formed so as to relieve the effects of mass unemployment in Germany, it was divided in sections for both men and women.

Men between 18 and 25 may have served 6 months in the RAD service before they joined the military forces of Germany. During WW2 this service in the RAD prior to joining the military, was compulsory.

The flag is in near perfect condition without any rips or tears, staining is very minimal indeed. Its double sided with printed roundel, swastika and corn ears. Colours are bright and the red has remained a nice deep shade. To one side it has a stitched sleeve where the flag would have been mounted to a pole.

It is highly likely this flag would have been flown over a major event or summer camp for the RAD organisation. With the absence of the spade and the swastika being present, its possible it would have been used for a female RAD event or summer camp.

Very rare to find a flag of this size, superb example but unfortunately difficult to photograph due to its size.
