Here is a nice used battle flag from the Saddam era in Iraq – 100% vet bring back from the Desert Storm operation in 1991. This style of flag was used by the Iraqi government between 1963 and 1991 – War-Den found this flag in the USA. The design was modified by order of Saddam Hussein in January 1991 to add the words  Allahu akbar, meaning “God is great” in Arabic.

This flag measures 1800mm X 800mm, is complete with the rope lanyard and toggle. Tied to the toggle are small cotton strips, these are remnants of the Iraqi soldiers childrens clothes, tied there for good luck – extremely rare to find these still tied and certainly original to this flag.

The flag is made of a cotton/synthetic mix, has a couple of small holes. Its well stained which looks like engine oil and a red lubricant – but no smell, probably washed by the vet that brought it back.

A great flag that certainly has been in the thick of the action for sure, would grace any Desert Storm collection!
