The Zollgrenzschtz (Customs Border Guards) existed in Germany between 1937-45. This Officers Schirmmutze is a very fine example, maker is Ludwig Vogele and size is 58 1/2. The cap body has a beautiful doe skin feel, very fine soft material. The cap band is the bottle green of the Zoll and again very fine material. Cap peak has only minor scratches and is totally secure in its stitching to the cap body. The cockade and wreath are perfect, and the organisation emblem above with its beautiful sweeping wings is again a very fine example. Internal of the cap it has very lush bottle green silk lining with only a very small tear to its cellulose diamond. The makers details on the diamond are slightly worn through wear, but this certainly adds to the character of the cap.

A beautiful example of a cap that is becoming very hard to find, certainly in this condition.
