A fine quality small creamer jug from the Platterhof hotel – very rare as most of these little jugs were broken after the hotel was demolished.

The Platterhof Hotel was built by the Third Reich so as to assure the very best hospitality for guests waiting to see Hitler. It was up on the Obersalzberg very close to Hitlers House – The Berghof. At the time it was one of the finest hotels in Europe. After the end of WW2 it was used by the American Forces until 2005, it was then demolished after being returned to the control of the Bavarian Government. The Platterhof emblem was used on all service and glassware used at the hotel – it shows a peasant woman with mountains in the background. The entire emblem is encased in an oval.

The jug is marked underneath with “Bauscher Porzellan” and on the side it has a very nice blue print of the Platterhof emblem of the peasant lady.

Completely undamaged, there are not too many of these left out there on the open market.
