This Police Bayonet is slotted at the pommel head for rifle fitting. It does show some pitting at the pommel and cross-guard with the fixing screw at the pommel being the most affected. Staghorn grip is in perfect condition with no cracks or chips. The blade is the real star of this piece being very near mint and maker marked “Eichorn Solingen” – a really beautiful blade. Cross-guard is marked “90” and does have the plating to the surface peeled in places. The police emblem is set firmly into the grip but does show some friction wear, all detail though remains visible.

Attached is a very worn knot with strap, many of the silver bullion threads are loose or missing. Black leather frog fits nicely to the bayonet, obverse is in nice condition, the reverse shows a lot of wear to the cloth backing.

A good honest dress bayonet with an exceptional blade, but priced accordingly to the wear shown to frog and bayonet fittings.

A good, solid Rural Police example here.
