East German (DDR) Army General was the equivalent of a Four Star General in NATO-nations although ranked below the Marshal of the German Democratic Republic, although no one was ever promoted to the Marshal of DDR actual rank.

East German (DDR) Army General’s Dress Dagger complete with Guilt Hangers, in red leatherette Presentation Box.
This set is in near mint condition. The blade is brightly polished and marked with issue number “03456” close to the push-button release on the cross-guard. The synthetic ivory handle is completely undamaged with no chips or cracks. Original leather washer between cross-guard and scabbard is present and in mint condition. The finish to the scabbard is perfect and totally free from scratches or chips to the surface. All fittings to dagger and scabbard again are in mint condition.
The red velvet backed hangers are really of superb quality. The stitching of the machined gold bullion thread is tight and again in mint condition. The gold washed fittings to the hangers are of very high quality with crisp detailed relief, again in mint condition.
